The intelligence and creativity of unconscious process is symbolically expressed in our patient’s associations, dream life and story-telling. The psychoanalytic listening stance is unique in facilitating contact with unconscious levels and processes in both patient and therapist as well as the unconscious communication between them including transference, historical, and trauma themes. Knowing how to listen can deepen our work even with patients who have difficulty communicating feelings and narrative.

PRESENTER BIO:

Dr. Farnsworth is a psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, and consultant practicing in Newport Beach, CA. Her work is focused on adults and couples with issues related to relationships, communications, anxiety, depression, and aging. She completed psychoanalytic training at the Newport Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in 2009. She is a Training and Supervising analyst, working with psychoanalytic candidates in training and is currently Vice President and faculty member at Newport Psychoanalytic Institute, in Tustin, California.

Individual courses are $60. Create your own series of 4 or more for $50 per course.
